I hand wove the corset using (again) recycled materials. This time it was binding tape that is used for batches of cardboard. There was a skirt to match from a college competition but the whole look was far too “student” so bought a great pair of liquid leggings that looked amazing on the model  (Shidan from Morgan)

Following a course at the Grafton Academy of Fashion Design in Dublin, Wendy emigrated to the United States after securing a green card and took night classes at the FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) in New York. She worked under Tracey Watts who had worked with Balenciaga in Paris and was supplying hats and headpieces to high end department stores such as Barneys of New York. I always admire people who get results no matter what the cost and sacrifice and I love that Wendy did not go the traditional route of a BA to get to where she is today.

Today,  Wendy provides beautiful headwear for period drama on TV and film most notably The Tudors, she researches the fashion of each era for accuracy and uses natural fibres, processing them herself to get  the textures right for the time. In addition her hats are available in Brown Thomas in Dublin and she also does specially commissioned bridal head wear.
